I wrote and arranged music for the main titles of Zach Galifianakis’ Between Two Ferns half-hour special, coming this weekend on Comedy Central. Guests will include Jon Stewart, Tina Fey, and Richard Branson. Check it out at 8:30PM on Sunday, May 6th.

New Music: “Long Time”

I have put up a new cue that I recorded this past weekend. The cue, “Long Time,” is something that has been sitting in my head for about a year. I had some free time last week to write it out, and decided to splurge on some players and a recording/mixing engineer to help bring it to life. Hope you like it.

Spring Update

Wrapped up additional music duties on a dozen episodes of the ABC series Body of Proof in early March. Custom scored The Hungover Games, a parody trailer, for Funny or Die. The video has received 240,000 views and counting. I also custom scored a spot for UCLA as part of their new “Optimists” ad campaign. In addition to my own music, the campaign heavily features James Horner’s theme from A Beautiful Mind.

On the trailer front, my music can be heard in recent and current campaigns for Beauty and the Beast 3D (Disney), Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (Warner Brothers), Brave (Disney/Pixar), and the upcoming Brave video game (also Disney/Pixar).

Funny or Die Presidential Debate & 2011 Roundup

Finished 2011 strong, scoring the intro, outro and bumpers for the Yahoo News Funny or Die Presidential Online Internet Cyber Debate, starring Larry King as himself and Mike Tyson as Herman Cain.

2011 was great. I wrote music for 8 episodes of the prime time ABC medical drama Body of Proof, and will continue to write as the season runs through March of 2012. I also contributed music to the upcoming ABC comedy, Don’t Trust the Bitch in Apartment 23. I had music in trailers and promotional material for Tangled (Disney), Mars Needs Moms (Disney), Mr. Poppers Penguins (20th Century Fox), Your Highness (Universal), The Muppets – 2 trailers – (Disney), Kung Fu Panda 2 (Paramount), and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (Focus Features). I scored a great pilot episode for Tremendosaur and many episodes of MyRoommateThe. There were also some shorts and odd jobs, like a national commercial for ADT Home Security, and a commission for a 5 minute piece to accompany a stadium fireworks show in Bahrain.

I’m exhausted just writing about this. Let’s see what 2012 brings.

My cue, “One Man Army,” was used in the TV campaign for Paramount’s Kung Fu Panda 2, starring Jack Black.

I returned from my latest X-Ray Dog orchestral session in Seattle last week. Currently scoring a great short that will be premiering at LA Shorts Fest in a couple of weeks (trailer). I’ll have lots of new music coming to the site soon.

Original Music in “The Muppets” Trailer; TV Pilot Wrapped

Just found out I’ve licensed my cue, “Hopes and Dreams,” for use in a trailer for the upcoming Disney release, The Muppets. featuring voice performances by Zach Galifianakis, Amy Adams, and Emily Blunt. Watch here (Trailer 1 from :25-:35). I also custom scored a trailer last week for upcoming release Man on the Train, starring Donald Sutherland and Larry Mullen Jr. of U2.

In scoring news, these past couple weeks I wrapped up scoring a pilot directed by LA-Based sketch group, Tremendosaur and produced by Levity Entertainment – hopefully I can share more on that soon. Also, several shorts I’ve recently scored have been making the festival rounds – The Wallet played at Newport Beach Film Festival with an upcoming screening at LA Shorts Fest, and Blackbird (co-composer Ben Crippin Taylor) has been nominated for a student academy award.

I’m currently writing music to be recorded at an upcoming Seattle orchestral session with X-Ray Dog. Very much looking forward to it. Stay tuned.
